13th Antalya International Film and Art Festival (June 18-26, 1976)
Orhan Taylan graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts, Rome in 1965. In the same year he joined the Workers’ Party of Turkey (TİP). In 1977 and in 1978 Taylan was elected as the chairman of the Visual Artists Association and between 1976-1980 he organized mural painting symposiums and executed several murals. During the same period Taylan designed posters for trade unions and publications. He currently lives and works in İstanbul.
Before the 1980 military coup d’état Selahattin Tonguç served as the mayor of Antalya (1973-1977 and 1977-1980). During Tonguç’s presidential terms Antalya obtained wider boulevards and roads and the Antalya Film and Art Festival developed into an international interdisciplinary festival.
