Transforming Salt Beyoğlu’s ground floor into a production space, the Trash program continues with a talk by architect, curator, and founder of the Milan-based interdisciplinary studio 2050+.
Laparelli will talk about wide-ranging projects and the spatial practice of 2050+. He will also present his scenographies that transform exhibition infrastructures into narrative tools addressing various issues at the intersection of technology, environment, and politics.
The talk will be held in English and is open to everyone. The program will take place online via Zoom and will be broadcast live at Salt Beyoğlu. Please register here for online participation. No registration is required for in-person attendance at Salt Beyoğlu.
Ippolito Pestellini Laparelli is an architect and curator whose work encompasses technology, politics, design, and environmental practices. Formerly a partner at OMA/AMO, he founded the Milan-based interdisciplinary studio 2050+ in 2020 to deploy space as a medium rather than a goal, carrying out various projects across curatorial and research practices, exhibition design, scenography, and architecture. In 2018, Pestellini co-curated Manifesta 12, The Planetary Garden. Cultivating Coexistence, in Palermo. In 2023, he served as President of the Jury of the 18th International Architecture Exhibition of the Venice Biennale. Since 2017, he has been teaching at the Royal College of Art in London. His work has been shown and published internationally across a range of media, institutions, festivals, and exhibitions.
