Yaşar A. Adanalı works as a development specialist in Stuttgart University’s Department of International Urbanism. His research focuses on issues of democracy and the city, urban movements and urban transformation. In addition to İstanbul, he has worked in the cities of South America, Africa and the Middle East. He has two urban blogs, Mutlukent and Reclaim Istanbul, and has been awarded the Urban Planning Journalism Award from the Turkish Chamber of Urban Planners.
