Urban Bakers II
Salt Galata
December 17, 2016 14.00
SALT Galata, Terrace
A discursive baking program initiated by Kök Projekt in November at SALT Galata, Urban Bakers aims to raise awareness of specialized bread production within the urban context of Istanbul. For each event Kök Projekt invites three bakers to produce and discuss their interest and relationship to sourdough. Each baker introduces their personal bread making techniques and recipes, describes the importance of independent bread production in an urban setting, while preparing their sourdough breads in the oven.
The second event takes place on Saturday, December 17 from 14.00 - 17.00 on the terrace of Neolokal, with invited bakers Sungur Altınöz (Manuel Bakery), Erkut Abda (Glutensiz Ürünler Atölyesi) and Umut Sonat Güner (KAPTA). Anyone is welcome to participate in the conversation and taste the finished products.
