Panel: Apricots from Damascus
Salt Galata
January 6, 2016 16.00 – 20.00
SALT Galata, Auditorium
In the scope of Apricots from Damascus, an apexart franchise exhibition in collaboration with SALT, the organizers and editors of the project will discuss the production and concept of their zines, along with their representation in the exhibition.
The panel discussion will be held in English with simultaneous translation to Turkish and Arabic.
Apricots from Damascus, on view until February 21, 2016, takes place in the research and social spaces of SALT Galata. It gathers the artists and writers who have been approached to each edit an issue of the zine, along with accompanying artworks or references. The hope is that by integrating the exhibition into the active areas of the building, exiled or settled artists in Istanbul can find spaces to commune together.
